Flip Pallot Speaks at Naples Banquet

The 3rd annual Naples Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Banquet was held on Saturday, March 16th at Foxfire Country Club and enjoyed a great crowd and very successful evening.  A special thanks to the staff at Foxfire and to banquet chair Keith Goodman for their diligent work and assistance with the event.  We would also like to thank the many great sponsors and donors who contributed time, money, and products for silent, live, and raffle auction items.  We could not do it without their support.

Flip Pallot discusses what it was like growing up on the edge of the Florida Everglades

This year’s event was attended by over 120 interested anglers and supporters who helped raise over $30,000 to support ongoing BTT research and conservation efforts. Attendees had a great time swapping their favorite fishing stories and listening to legendary South Florida angler and guide Flip Pallot give a presentation (and audience Q & A session) about growing up on the edge of the Everglades as a young angler.  Flip attributed much of his love of the sport to the pioneering efforts of those early saltwater anglers who influenced him and helped grow the burgeoning new sport of light tackle saltwater angling.  He also pleaded with the anglers and outdoorsmen in attendance to get kids into the outdoors and introduce them to the natural world.

A live auction concluded the evening and great lodge trips, rods, reels, gear, art, books and silent auction items, and raffle prizes were handed out.  We would like to send our sincere thanks to Flip Pallot who arrived early and stayed late to sign books, autographs and other momentos brought in by guests.  Thank you again to all who attended, we hope you had a great time and we look forward to seeing each of you in the future at another BTT event.
